The Board’s job is to signify, lead and serve Calgarians and to manipulate the Calgary Board of Training, one of many largest college boards in Canada. Residents of Calgary elect trustees by the municipal election each 4 years.
The Board of Trustees has one worker – the chief superintendent. The Board delegates accountability for day-to-day operational selections to the chief superintendent.
The Board offers governance in three areas: fiduciary, strategic and organizational management.
When fulfilling its fiduciary management the college board focuses on its authorized duties to make sure:
- Every scholar has the chance to realize their potential
- Youngsters are protected at college
- The jurisdiction’s monetary and capital assets are nicely managed
- Its enterprise is performed in a authorized and moral method

Advocacy
The CBE Board of Trustees is an advocate for public schooling, for our native college system and scholar success. all the scholars the CBE serves – not simply the pursuits of a selected college or space.

Annual Training Outcomes Report,
Finances and Monetary Statements and different key studies - Appoints an impartial auditor to conduct an annual exterior evaluation of the CBE’s monetary situation

renames the group, faculties, parts of colleges, college grounds and different CBE services - Approves the bargaining mandate and ratify all collective agreements for unionized workers
- Approves the overall compensation packages for all exempt workers
- Performs different duties required by regulation or not in any other case delegated to the Chief Superintendent
